I would assume the 1935 original wasn't about a $20, any confirmation/details? Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 23:42, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
plot synopsis error
[edit]After watching the movie myself, I noticed a discrepency in the plot synopsis:
"The underage grandson goes to a convenience store and asks Jimmy (Christopher Lloyd) to buy him white wine. Jimmy goes into the store to find that his partner, Frank (Steve Buscemi), has botched the robbery. The homeless woman from the beginning of the film tries to buy a lottery ticket but walks away when she realizes the place is being robbed. Jimmy and Frank leave, giving the kid champagne instead of white wine."
Frank and Jimmy robbed a few stores that night, but it was the very first store that they robbed in which the homeless woman was involved. The homeless woman was in no way affiliated with the fumbled, final robbery involving the 20 dollar bill.
i'll let someone else fix it though since i'd rather have one of the wikipedios take credit for this since its 2 in the morning and i'm in a weird mood. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.110.127.150 (talk) 09:07, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
More errors
[edit]Now that I read the rest of the plot synopsis, i've come to the conclusion that the entire thing has holes left in right with things completely missing or out of order chronologically. A person who has never seen the movie before would only have about 70% of the plot correct after reading that poorly-written synopsis.
I would suggest a wikipedian to watch the movie and re-organize this synopsis. The person who wrote it probobly had good intentions, but quite frankly their memory must be failing them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.110.127.150 (talk) 09:12, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it took a while, but I got around to it.
Movie filmed but not set in Minneapolis
[edit]It is fairly obvious that movie was not set in Minneapolis. In fact, the filmmakers do a fairly good job of keeping Minneapolis landmarks out of the film. Only in one brief glimpse is the IDS Center visible. They do an even better job of keeping Los Angeles landmarks out of the film. Indeed, newspaper boxes are the main thing giving L.A. away. Strangely, one scene filmed in L.A. (where Jimmy boards a bus after killing Frank) includes a Minneapolis bus stop sign. Were this not obvious in the film, the filmmakers state early in the DVD commentary that they intended it to be a nondescript American city. I have edited the article to reflect this.Bellczar (talk) 07:12, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Wrong poster?
[edit]According to this article, the movie came out in 1993, but the $20 bill in the poster image features a design that didn't come out until 2003. Anyone have more info? Midhart90 (talk) 19:31, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
