Why is this in the sub category Penal system of India (relevance)? Why is it while Vellore Central Prison is not? Both are jails.

It shouldn't have been. Now it's not. Prisons of India is a subcat of Penal system in India. -- Necrothesp 17:07, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Renamed

[edit]

I renamed this article from Tihar Jail to Tihar Prisons since their official web site in English refers to them that way primarily. Their site also uses the term tihar jail and tihar jail complex, though not tihar ashram anymore, but Tihar Prisons seems to be primary now. - Owlmonkey (talk) 04:00, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sobhraj

[edit]

On the Charles Sobhraj page, it refers to this prison as "notorious" for its terrible conditions, and asserts that said conditions are the reason that Sobhraj's female associates attempted suicide within a year of their initial imprisonment.

However, this article seems to present a completely different picture of the prison, focusing on the "music therapy" and "FM station" and other supposed accomplishments.

Can anyone who has anything close to direct experience with the prison please throw in their two cents on the matter, and perhaps a few ideas as to how these narratives can be reconciled? Thanks! 216.20.152.85 (talk) 05:54, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting data

[edit]

There is conflicting data on the prison capacity, in the first paragraph, it states that the capacity is 5,200 people, Where the infobox shows 6250 as the capacity. Please ammend this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KR72 (talkcontribs) 09:40, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
