[edit]There are way too many quotes on this page. If they should be included then they need to be in some sort of quote sub section and not in the biography sub section. And the entire biography was clearly ripped off a website like myspace or something. Avenged Evanfold 23:45, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Uhh what's gonna happen to TAS without daponde?
Metlacore?
[edit]how can this is band is listed under metalcore (Seth4000 (talk) 05:01, 25 January 2009 (UTC)) Seth4000
- the New York Times headline of Nov 4, 2008, above the smaller announcement of Barack Obama winning the presidency of the United States, stated as such: "Acacia Strain Defines Metalcore". So there's your reliable source. Of course, there has been international debate, with the United Nations voting 118 to 31 against calling them metalcore, but its widely believed that voting was rigged by China in their bid to be the new center of all things core.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 02:54, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ha, amusing. In seriousness, I have nothing against this band, but unless they meet either the general notability guidelines or the band specific notability guidelines, they shouldn't have a Wikipedia article. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:36, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Some little fuckwit changed the genre to emo, and put a whole lot of emo crap as associated acts, changing it back. I am changing the genre to Deathcore, as that is by and large, the genre that most accurately represents the band.
- I agree with you on the fact that it IS deathcore, not emo but you should know that personal attacks are not allowed.
Deathcore?
[edit]I've listened to many of their songs and I feel they are metalcore. I don't hear too much deathcore in their sound. Thoughts? TheSickBehemoth (talk) 00:22, 30 May 2009 (UTC)TheSickBehemoth they are definitely deathcore. if you feel they are metalcore pay attention to them more. ?Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.78.67.146 (talk) 22:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Elaborate. They sound nothing like other deathcore I listen to. I hear little to no death metal in their music. TheSickBehemoth (talk) 21:43, 10 June 2009 (UTC)TheSickBehemoth
listen to continent. that album takes a bigger death metal approach. 95% death growls almost no screaming.
- Imagine thinking the scream/growl ratio that the singer does determines the entire genre of the band. Second Skin (talk) 08:33, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
Hey, here's whats wrong with your sources: 1 Nowhere in this source does it say TAS is deathcore. 2 The second source says "(for lack of a better term) deathcore" 3 About.com is the least reliable site on the internet. 4 Not a reliable source 5 This is just the first paragraph from the Wikipedia article copy and pasted. You're basically citing yourselves here. 6 Broken link 7 Broken link The Acacia Strain will be listed as metalcore because they ARE metalcore and the citations back it up. Deal with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.100.161.245 (talk) 05:50, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
Meaning
[edit]Put it in the article, it's a common question and should be answered here. The meaning is metaphoric to the ugliness in beauty, originating from the acacia plant's disease strain that comes from the bugs breeding on it.
For convenience, here's the source link. Do it to it guys. http://www.hardcoresounds.net/modules.php?name=Interviews&func=view&id=64 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.69.25.81 (talk) 06:56, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
GENRE
[edit]The source provided states the band as deathcore, so stop changing it to metalcore and hardcore. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.244.142 (talk) 22:37, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed with above. Further changes will result in admin action. TheWeakWilled (T * G) 01:34, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- The "TAS is deathcore" edits weren't even sourced; it was pure opinion. I've replaced the biased POV with sourced NPOV in keeping with Wikipedia's standards. 75.15.95.82 (talk) 05:40, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Not sure what is going on here
[edit]I can't work out if all the edits are fake here or only some of them, but i have protected the article for a bit and reverted back to how it was a couple of days ago. Theresa Knott | token threats 16:24, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Not Deathcore
[edit]Deathcore is a fusion of Death Metal and Metalcore. Where do you hear any elements of traditional Death Metal. (ie. Blast Beats, Tremolo picking, etc.) Nowhere. It's got hardcore elements like Two-step riffs and breakdowns. Hardcore and Metalcore better defines their genre. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.140.252.24 (talk) 23:14, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
The Acacia Strain is metalcore. I'll agree that a couple of their songs have SOME small death metal influences, for example to respond above, Skynet has a bit of blast beat drumming, but all in all they hardly have any death in them. They are too "brutal" to be just hardcore, so I think metalcore fits them best. Not a valid source here, just my opinion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.247.226 (talk) 05:30, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Why with all the genre arguments?
[edit]They should just be left as Extreme metal and that's it, besides imo they have heavy groove type of sound and speed like bands such as Meshuggah, Ion Dissonance and new Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. P.S. If anyone will keep changing the genres, it will be removed so don't bother to change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.65.119.68 (talk) 15:52, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
"Feud with Emmure" section
[edit]Although I can certainly see how certain recent edits to the portion of this article dealing with TAS's feud with Emmure could easily be considered too dubious and gossip-laden to be worth keeping, I think that my original version of it is sufficiently backed by sources so as to stay. While the two bands' feud is certainly surrounded by gossip and rumor, there is at least official confirmation from TAS member Vincent Bennett that it exists. Please discuss this before removing the section. Thanks. 99.153.87.193 (talk) 00:53, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
