    Pass/Fail:

The usual suggestions for prose and context:

  • During Sultan of Rum Mesud II's first reign 'During the first reign of the Sultan of Rum, Mesud II,...' is more verbose but reads better
     Done
  • Would Kilij Arslan or Ulu Arif Chelebi warrant a WP:REDLINK?
    Linked both.
Don't see Uluf Ari Chelebi. To clarify, it is not obligatory, just as a convenience for future article creation and linking. Constantine 09:07, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Honest mistake. I remembered that he was also mentioned in Eretna's article, and added the link there. And then I forgot to do the same here. There are some significant sources with him as their sole focus: [1][2] I absolutely think he is notable, and I will probably create his article soon. Aintabli (talk) 10:57, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Gloss atabeg, uch bey, faqihs, mevlevihane (for this I would even recommend using only a description, e.g. 'the lodge of the Mevlevi Sufi order' or similar)
     Done
  • He was granted control of Kastamon last person mentioned is Yavlak Arslan
It should have been Yaman. Fixed.
  • Upon the death of Suleiman's father can you add a date? And since his identity as Suleiman's father is established, I would suggest repeating his full name.
No, I don't think there's an exact year when he presumably died. I've mentioned Yaman again.
  • Can you give some context on Eflani's location relative to Kastamonu? Near, far? West, south, east?
     Done
  • For the average reader, it may be unclear where Mahmud ruled over (i.e., the regnal dates could be misconstrued as referring to Kastamonu)
I've mentioned that he was the leader of the local Chobanids dynasty and moved the regnal interval after that remark.
  • until its last head's demise, Ilkhan Abu Sa'id (r. 1316–35) ' until the demise of its last ruler, Ilkhan Abu Sa'id (r. 1316–35)'
     Done
  • Link vizier
     Done
  • Suleiman vassalized Mu'in al-Din Parwana's son Ghazi Chelebi of Sinop if Ghazi Chelebi warrants an article of his own, then redlink him and avoid mentioning his father; otherwise perhaps something like 'Suleiman vassalized Ghazi Chelebi of Sinop, son of Mu'in al-Din Parwana. After Gahzi's death...'
     Done
  • Localize Sinop and Safranbolu relative to Kastamonu
     Done
  • as-Sultānu'l-a'zam needs to be included in the usual transliteration template (Persian afaict), and a gloss provided ('the Great Sultan')
It should be Arabic. Added translations.
  • formidable in what? Appearance? As a scholar or mighty ruler?
It's unclear, and it's actually somewhat a translation of the text, so I've added quotes.
Can you add who the quote comes from? Uzunçarşılı is referenced but does it come from him, or does Uzunçarşılı quote a third source? Constantine 09:07, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's from Uzunçarşılı, which I've now specified in the article. He does not cite a third source. Aintabli (talk) 15:06, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Identify al-Umari as a contemporary historian, and introduce al-Shirazi and İsmail Hakkı Uzunçarşılı
     Done
  • Some context on the Mamluk Sultanate (e.g. '...the Mamluk Sultanate that ruled Egypt and Syria' or similar)
     Done
  • Suleiman's reign I think you mean 'Suleiman's realm'
That works as well, I think. Changed to "realm".

Once these are done, I'll do a source check for coverage and copyvios. Looks good otherwise. Constantine 11:03, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cplakidas:, sorry for the delay. Aintabli (talk) 08:08, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Aintabli: no worries. Most issues are done, only a couple minor ones remaining. Article looks good otherwise. Constantine 09:07, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @Cplakidas to let you know I've tried to follow up on the remaining issues in case you didn't see my edits on your watchlist. Aintabli (talk) 23:05, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
