Some seemingly-served LatAm countries are missing from the Launch section/table

[edit]

Specifically, the following seemingly-served countries are missing:

The individual press-release webpages linked above are all sourced from the 'Press Releases' subsection within the 'Star+' section of the Disney (LatAm) Press Pack site, which I gather is an official Disney source, and is globally accessible AFAIK. {These particular webpages are in Español/Spanish, and if necessary one could of course read them via a reliable translator site.}

Note that the Press Releases subsection is a tad inconvenient for this purpose, as it's not multi-national but instead nation-specific. One needs to first select a particular country/subregion from the menu at top right, and after the page refreshes then find the relevant country-specific press announcement {which in this case would always be the one dated '13 / 08 / 2021', with a large multi-brand logo including the new one 'COMBO+'}. That's how I obtained the individual webpages linked above.

[Actually, I was first made aware of these apparently official webpages via the (technically unreliable) article "Star+ and Combo+ (Disney+ and Star+ bundle) prices announced" [2021-08-13] in the r/DisneyPlus subreddit. Also, on a side note, we in the Anglo/Creole Caribbean ('Caribe' subregion in the menu) are not part of this launch at all, and must continue to patiently wait our turn. ;-)]

Many more Caribbean countries have been added to the Launch section/table without updated attribution

[edit]

Hmm, the recent revision dated '14:46, 23 December 2022' inserted several more Caribbean (island-)nations {joining the existing Dominican Republic (DR) entry} in the Launch table within a new 'Caribbean' portion -- i.e.: Antigua and Barbuda; The Bahamas; Barbados; Dominica; Grenada; Haiti; Jamaica; Saint Kitts and Nevis; Saint Lucia; Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; plus, Trinidad and Tobago. A related revision moved the DR entry from the 'North America' portion to that new portion too.

However, no new later launch date was indicated for those additional non-DR entries, which could lead to misinterpretation that they {like the DR} were also part of Star+'s initial launch on August 31st, 2021. If indeed they do now have access to this service, it would be better to indicate when that expansion occurred.

Hmm, I see that another editor has recently (13–19 March 2023) removed those insertions altogether.
I tend to concur, in the absence of any further evidence. So, I've taken the liberty of making a couple more changes to complete the reversion — i.e., removing the one remaining inserted country {Haiti}, and re-sorting the DR in alphabetical sequence within its section.
For now at least, we're back to only the original eighteen (18) served countries.
