AP as source

[edit]

Secobi, AP is a fully reliable source. Please restore it. BTW, I mistyped with "assertions," I meant "statements"

I understand your position, and it's validity, but your response was to a faux pas of mine, however moot it may have been, which is why I corrected it.

FYI, Secobi, you have breached WP:3RR. GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:57, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I believe you're mistaken in terms of miscounting, but thank you for the notification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Secobi (talkcontribs) 04:23, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be no reference or quote for who or what this "panagroup" was except for a very small mention in annotation [4] from Smartmatic's retrieved page. There is evidence that the group existed in the way back so maybe it can be added as a second annotation given that since the article's neutrality (as @ 21/11/2020) is going to be thoroughly implicated in conspiracism, it may now be received as some sort of shadowy corporation as opposed to being an engineering firm founded back in 1977 specialising in security systems and electronics.

Refer to Sequoia's transfer/sale from Smartmatic to Dominion

[edit]

Given that the section (2020 elections) referring to allegations by Trump's legal team mentions that Smartmatic did not provide software or hardware to Dominion, it seems appropriate to also mention that Smartmatic did own Sequoia, did work on integrating and updating Sequoia's software and hardware while they owned Sequoia, and then did divest from that company, which was later purchased by Dominion. It seems misleading to repeat Smartmatic's assertion that they did not provide software or hardware to Dominion when in fact they owned a company, later purchased by Dominion, that provided Dominion with software and hardware worked on by Smartmatic. http://www.truth-out.org/canadian-firm-buys-dieboldpremier-and-sequoia-voting-machine-companies60645 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.71.166.69 (talk) 03:46, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2017 Venezuelan Election Tampering

[edit]

It seems like this article should also mention Smartmatic's own admission of their vulnerability to tampering, which they confirm did occur in the 2017 election in Venezuela: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElQYXIc9pfo — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.71.166.69 (talk) 04:23, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Venezuelan connection" section

[edit]

@Arminden: Can you elaborate on your revert and edit summary here? "...not. See my edit summary, now also the talk-page. Thanks." I'm not seeing anything from you on this talk page, what am I supposed to be looking at? GorillaWarfare (talk) 18:23, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GorillaWarfare, hi. Wait a minute! It's coming. Arminden (talk) 18:56, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
GorillaWarfare Now: one edit summary was "Who are the owners as such is of no interest; the Venezuelan connection is, as the elephant in the room are the allegations that the Socialist gov't of Vnz influenced the 2020 US elections." That is what will attract the most people to this page for a long time to come: Trump & Giuliani -> Dominion Voting Systems -> Smartmatic. So the 2020 US elections are the issue, and if you mean that, yes, I agree, this should be visibly connected to that paragraph. I have rearranged the material a bit: the 2006 Chicago elections under USA, the alleged obfuscation of Venezuelan ownership as you correctly suggested under Venezuela, the 3 affected countries in a chronological order (Venezuela issues are starting in 2004, US in 2006 [and are the main focus of interest, let's be honest], Philippines in 2010), and placed a short intro in USA paragraph with a note that relevant & connected material can be found in the Controversy#Venez. paragraph. OK with you? Arminden (talk) 20:53, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thank you. I was mostly confused that we had a "Venezuela" heading and then a "Venezuelan connection" header at the same level. Now that that's addressed it seems fine to me. GorillaWarfare (talk) 21:03, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@GorillaWarfare:You were right, thank you too. Arminden (talk) 22:34, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
