[edit]

I'm requesting that this article be allowed to be created by an experienced Wikipedian. Salmonblaster[1] was a notable Canadian indie band from the mid 1990's who released a charting self titled album, were Toronto's top indie band [2], and appeared on Much Music[3](and had a video in heavy rotation there) and also appeared on the Tom Green Show. The article was deleted and protected without much thought because a previous editor used copyrighted and unsourced material. I'm pefectly capable of creating a well-sourced article on this band. --Yankees76 (talk) 14:40, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please create the article in your userspace, e.g. at User:Yankees76/Salmonblaster and then re-request creation. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:20, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Did a bare bones version in the link above. There were alot of articles and interviews done with the band in defunct magazines like ID Magazine and unfortuneately Canadian music magazines like Chartattack.ca (Chart Magazine) do a poor job of archiving past articles/interviews, so additional material will have to be sourced from print issues. In the meantime for what is available online, this article is better sourced than many better known bands' Wikipedia articles.

User:Yankees76/Salmonblaster - critique is welcome (and yes I know I suck at inline citaton format!)

I am going to move this page ... talkpages should not exist for non-existent articles. All discussion about the potential article should take place on the draft article talkpage OR on the talkpage of the user drafting it. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:13, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on the article. I have lifted the protection of Salmonblaster. Feel free to move it (along with this talk page) when you are ready. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:47, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
