Some comments about Hackett...
[edit]I didn't add this information to the actual page because I can't cite the exact sources. I just wanted to point out that Hackett gained city-wide popularity while serving as Shelby County court clerk. The court clerk's office was notoriously inefficient before Hackett took over, and he really straightened it out. His work in this office was what ultimately propelled him to run for mayor.
Hackett is a graduate of Hillcrest High School (I don't know what year he graduated, but my guess would be 1967). I believe he attended the University of Memphis for a while (Memphis State University in those days), but never graduated.24.56.113.189 (talk) 14:51, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
