Wingfield / Slazenger

[edit]

The article on Viscount Powerscourt reads "The 1,000-acre (4.0 km2) estate was sold by the 9th Viscount in 1961 to the Slazenger family, who still owns it to this day (2008). Wendy Slazenger, daughter of the late Ralph Slazenger, married the 10th Viscount in 1962 as his first wife. Through her children, the Hon. Mervyn Wingfield and the Hon. Julia Wingfield, there remains a strong family connection between the two families and the Powerscourt Estate."

Some of that should be included here, surely ? And there must be more to that story ! -- Beardo (talk) 22:14, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I included what you suggested with a few extra details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.79.203.130 (talk) 18:37, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal: Powerscourt Golf Club to here

[edit]

PGC has been tagged for notability for seven years. I think it would be a useful merge and redirect here, rather than lose it. I couldn't establish that it meets WP:ORG or WP:GNG in its own right. Boleyn (talk) 06:35, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction of Sika Deer

[edit]
"resulting in the successful introduction of the Japanese Sika to Ireland."

This successful introduction resulted in an environmental disaster to the Irish Red Deer population that took over 100 years to rectify?? The introduction of the "Grey Deer" and it's devastating consequences is part of Irish Folklore, well known and oft quoted.
