Surprised to learn he was of a Catholic background - more than one of his fifties scripts - which impressed us as adolescents of the Cinemascope epic generation - seemed to have strong (and relatively Quaker. so we thought) non-violent subtexts.Delahays (talk) 14:52, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
