transliteration
[edit]I removed the Russian tranliteration of his name, firstly because it was wrong (his middle name was George, not Pavel), and secondly because he was an American. Palefire 00:33, Apr 4, 2005 (UTC)
I would be for changing his name to Khlebnikov, the standard transliteration of the name and also that stated by the Library of Congress form of transliteration. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.140.76.131 (talk) 20:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Reverts
[edit]I noticed several editors reverting this edit by Deepdish7: [1]. Yes, this is a highly POVish edit and a BLP violation with regard to Berezovsky. One needs much better sources to place hints/accusations of murder in WP articles (the reference to businessweek does not support the claim). Biophys (talk) 12:16, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Berezovsky crime allegations and libel suit
[edit]As the section about Berezovsky is covered by WP:BLP I introduced the following changes:
- clarified the matter to show that the libel case was actually settled in court
- reproduced the exact wording of Fobes' retraction
- removed the section saying what Berezovsky did not do as unencyclopedic
- removed phrase "Klebnikov himself was most afraid of Boris Berezovsky according to his brother" as a veiled allegation of complicity in murder based on hearsay
- added a section "Criticism" citing reliable sources noting a possible bias in Mr. Klebnikov's book on Berezovsky. Prior to that, I sought opinion of the community in WP:RSN#Can a biased author.
For the record, I have a connection with Mr. Berezovsky.--Kolokol1 (talk) 06:29, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Seems reasonable, I have only an issue with the large opinionated quote of a not notable person - Anna Isakova - this could be removed and as per WP:MOS guidelines - there is no need for a criticism section - add the comment to the related section/timeline of the content. Off2riorob (talk) 10:29, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds reasonable to me too (with regard to antisemitism claims), although some criticism could be provided, possibly not as a separate section. The book was described as strongly biased.Biophys (talk) 15:19, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
Externals
[edit]I removed these as they are not really external links , they are more citations - if useful or not already being used, please use to add any new detail/content to the body of the article. Off2riorob (talk) 00:34, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

DOB
[edit]Why is there a discrepancy in his DOB? In the first line of the article: "Paul Klebnikov (Russian: Павел Юрьевич Хлебников; August 6, 1964 – July 9, 2004)" But in the box on the right side of the page, it states: "Born June 3, 1963" If the Julian calendar is being used then that needs to be glossed, but the difference is too great. The difference should be only a day or two. If I have time, I will try to track this down and correct it, but I don't think I'll have time, so this is why I am pointing it out here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbrawn67 (talk • contribs) 09:35, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
