Merge
[edit]As the article states "The Bengali name for this dish is Panta bhat" so this should be merged into that article. Dancarney (talk) 14:03, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Support Makes sense to me. Geoff (talk) 22:01, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- No Pakhala is little similar to Panta bhat, and is an older term and should be a major article, and should not be merged with that article, Infact there are several cuisines made from Pakhala like, Jeera Pakhala, Dahi Pakhala, Garama Pakhala, Basi pakhala, etc which makes this a main Food category. ----ସୁଭପାSubha PaUtter2me! 15:48, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
This version's recipe section doesn't make it clear how the rice is involved. The current version, edited by me, doesn't help. Can you? :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:54, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- For starters, it may be better to keep the recipe omitted from the article, per WP:NOTRECIPE. NorthAmerica1000 05:02, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- True, but the way it is written slightly skirts that. Maybe better would be wording like "...consists of rice that has been....with the addition of cumin that was fried...and then...." Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:20, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- I've copy edited the Preparation section. It seems to be congruent with this version's recipe section at this time. It seems that rice is simply a primary ingredient in the dish. NorthAmerica1000 05:27, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- Splendid. It think the section serves visitors without the nasty "add 2 cups of X" presentation. (Of course X = eggs in Germany, as in "I vant 2 X and some M -- ya, M and X, hurry, I am hungry -- and on a rigid schedule. I must leave at precisely 07:43.") Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:34, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- That all said, the article would certainly benefit from improved sourcing, if other users eventually come along... NorthAmerica1000 10:38, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
