Change of title
[edit]I propose changing the title of this article to "Olive cultivation in Palestine." The present title does not encompass the full range of issues and facts concerning olives in Palestine. I'll also do some updating on the article. Objections? Alternative proposals? Smallchief (talk) 13:31, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't feel strongly about it. The current title follows the pattern of other pages such as Potato production in France and Rice production in India but the alternative is also used such as Rice cultivation in Sri Lanka.
- I'm not clear what the difference would be when using the one word rather than the other but I'm not objecting to a change. JMWt (talk) 15:03, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment. The difference in the two titles for me is that "Olive cultivation in Palestine" is broader in scope, covering factors impacting cultivation and production such as land utilized, number of farmers, yield of crops, constraints, problems, etc. "Olive production in Palestine" implies to me that the article is only about the output, i.e. the quantity of olives produced and their value. The article as it now exists seems to fit the broader word of "cultivation" more than the word "production." Smallchief (talk) 17:00, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
