Dating of Older Dryas
[edit]In the article on the Younger Dryas, it is dated 12,800 to 11,500 years ago, with the Older Dryas 1000 years earlier, which would put it about 14,000 years ago. In the Older Dryas article it is dated as 12,000 years ago, which is clearly far too late. It appears there may be confusion in the source cited between BC and BP. There's general use of "calibrated" and "uncalibrated" which is confusing to us not aware of the relationship between the dating systems. :-( — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.215.183.194 (talk) 19:22, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. I will try to revise to eliminate use of these terms. Dudley Miles (talk) 11:49, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
Is this "Greenland Stadial 2"?
[edit]There is no Wikipedia article on the Greenland Stadial/Interstadial system, yet a search shows that the term is used in several articles. Is there a close enough correlation for Greenland Stadial 2 to be a redirect here? Otherwise, can a start be made towards a relevant article?--Wetman (talk) 17:45, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- This source shows the Older Dryas between Greenland Stadials 1 and 2. Dudley Miles (talk) 10:22, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
