excel saga

[edit]

He.....prevented excel saga........from being aired on adult swim..........I need to kill this person.

Well, sort of. From what I am told, they said "Okay, the viewers said this anime's awesome, should we get the air rights to it or not?" and he voted no on it.

Lazzo's aquired quite a mythos around himself. Its very hard not to notice some of his questionable behavior as of late, although no one should jump to conclusions. I've heard some stuff..but I don't want to spread rumors. Suffice to say, I hope he's not causing the block more harm than good as time goes on. --68.233.141.149 04:55, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

But isn't a co-owner or something? He make any decision he wants.

Neutrality?

[edit]

Overall, this article reads fairly neutral, up until the last couple sentences, where some wording could be toned down. I nominate this article for revision. HubHikari 08:05, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What did he hate about "Big O"?

From what I've heard, it was killing Comedy in the ratings, which he disliked, causing him to throw a hissy fit and threaten to quit if they didn't can Big O. --Veemonkamiya 10:18, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, doesn't he have some kind of ownership? I really doubt he threw a hissy fit.

Needs cleaning and to be nuetral.

[edit]

Not everyone likes anime, let alone Excel Saga. While it may infuriate one person, it may please another incredibly. I actually think all the anime should be shoved into Toonami or something, maybe make adult swim all original programming. In any case, this article is in need of some work.

I disagree. Its pretty neutral as it is. While not everyone likes Japanese animation, not everyone likes the comedy programs of adult swim either and it would be hypocritical to not assume that just as many people would be extremely upset if the comedy block were treated in a similar fashion. If the anime block was watched by one person maybe it'd be understandable, but the Japanese animation part of adult swim is a major feature of the block. This is because the show's aired on AS can't be aired on Toonami, because Toonami is a more kid friendly and censor friendly block. Good example, Gundam SEED. Gundam SEED had a lot of very violent scenes that were heavilly altered right down to the infamous "disco guns" (all the realistic looking guns used on the show were digitally altered to look like well....toys. Uhg..I still don't get it. They never did that to Gundam Wing..) Where as Adult Swim is able to air things like Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Blue Gender, Trigun and Neon Genesis Evangelion (I have no clue how they're going to air that...ending.) all shows that would NEVER be aired fully on Toonami without each episode being cut down to at least 10 minutes, or being so heavilly censored that the story would be crippled. Thats the draw to Adult Swim and why to many, its very wrong in concept to have those show's and the whole block in general treated like second fiddle to the comedy block.
I've heard stories....I work a bit in the animation world. I have my suspicions on Lazzo too but I do agree that for the sake of neautrality it shouldn't be touched on much here too. But beyond a mention of the incident there's nothing else mentioned. Its perfectly neutral information to just report the possibility that Lazzo had something to do with it briefly. It'd be like not stating the supposed corruption that led to Sliders' horrible death because it was never officially mentioned (although stated by numorous people.) If this got to the point obvious hatred of Lazzo were stated then it should be toned down, but as I see it now its just stating the much rumored possibility. As long as its stated as such, just a possibility, its fine I think.--Kiyosuki 06:46, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He was referring to an older (and more decadent) version of the article. It's since been cleaned up to address the controversy as such instead of the opinions being mixed in with the factual biography. Jkatzen 07:33, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I see. Thats good then. I believe its wrong to completely emit any mention of the possible controversy, but at the same time I do know its probably very easy for this particular wiki to submerge into badmouthing seeing his rep.--Kiyosuki 07:54, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral, shcmutral... there is NOTHING 'neutral' about a succesful show being retired due to the professional ambisions of one of the creators. Revise the page if you wish but PUHLEASE keep the disucssion FREE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.33.166.65 (talk) 05:26, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
