Name translation

[edit]

The correct translation for the French word donjon is "keep", not "dungeon". It's a false friend. Le donjon de Naheulbeuk would therefore be "Naheulbeuk's Keep". Of course, this is complicated by the fact that that the French name Le donjon de Naheulbeuk comes from the role-playing game Donjons et dragons, which is itself an erroneous translation of the English Dungeons and Dragons... The newly released game has an official English name, The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos[1][2], so I think it's now fair to say that The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk (or even The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk?), though clumsy, is the official translation. codl (talk) 15:27, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
