Copyright violation
[edit]Hi. I am right in believing the text in the article came from here?: http://www.knockhill.com/history.php If so where can I find proof of permission for the text? tommylommykins 15:34, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- I have no idea how to prove this to you, but I have family connections to Derek Butcher and he has told me that any way to raise the profile of the track is ok by him! If you can suggest a method of proof I will be happy to oblige
- Can I suggest you read the Wikipedia:Copyrights article. You will need to obtain permission from the copyright holderto license the text under the GFDL 62.30.54.65 14:21, 28 August 2006 (UTC) (tommylommykins)
- I have now removed all copyrighted content. Sorry. tommylommykins 20:40, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well you could have at least reverted it to the edit before mine, the one that actually had some information
- Done. Thanks for the heads-up tommylommykins 16:29, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Copyright again
[edit]If you have permission from a copyright owner, you need to get them to email permissions (at) wikipedia (dot) org with confirmation. After that's done and dusted, you can add a special notice to this talk page to that effect. It is not sufficient simply to assert here that you have such permission, since Wikipedia has no way of telling who you are; it must be proven, and the aforementioned method is the best way to do it. Knockhill Racing Circuit → Knockhill – WP:CONCISE. I am unable to find any references to other notable subjects with the name "Knockhill". The only two subjects I can find with the name "Knockhill" are the motor circuit and the hill it is built on, which aren't really distinct enough subjects to warrant separate articles. If there is another notable subject by this name please feel free to provide examples. I also believe that "Knockhill" is the WP:COMMONNAME of the venue, as seen here, here, here, here, here, and here. Unless examples of other notable Knockhills can be found then it would seem that the current title is unnecessary disambiguation. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 13:59, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

FIA grade 3 licence
[edit]HumanBodyPiloter5 - I can see that you are relatively new to WP; you might like to think again about how this change reads. This entry is dated 17 October 2017 and shows that FIA level 3 was in place to expire 23 Feb 2019, so the award would significantly pre-date the suggestion in your change, which reads unclearly (I am aware of 'as of'). This was not an exhaustive search, I'll leave that up to you. A secondary source (press release) would be better, likely giving a definitive date. Thanks.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 00:57, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
Alleged nickname: 'Home of Scottish Motor Racing'
[edit]I have removed this (with reasoning in the edit summary) as it's been going back and forth for some time with no substantiation that it is used in published works, and appears to be entirely promotional, contrary to neutral point of view. A quick Google shows connected businesses and minor/recent internet sites (one of the latter [fanzone-forum] states Ingliston was the home of... from the 1960s.
It was IP-added in 2019, see: this change. 82.13.47.210 (talk) 13:39, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
