[edit]There should be something referencing the fact that Wayne Gretzky broke Gordie Howe's goal record of 801 in the Great Western Forum, which was one of the greatest sports spectacles.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.56.133.146 (talk • contribs) 02:33, July 29, 2006
Change of Ownership
[edit]Something should be discussed about the [pending] change of ownership of The Forum, how the church that currently owns the building is looking to sell the property to Madison Square Garden.
CLick here for LA Times article — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daredog91 (talk • contribs) 22:07, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- The sale is pending right now it could take a few weeks, some months etc... so until either Forum Enterprises, Inc. or Madison Square Garden, Inc. makes an OFFICIAL announcement that the sale has been consummated the owner should continue to be listed as Forum Enterprises, Inc. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 18:00, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Actually the Los Angeles Times and other sources are reporting this as a done deal. "MSG . . . has paid $23.5 for the Forum . . . ."[1] See also [2][3][4]. And here's the MSG press release announcing the done deal.[5]--Arxiloxos (talk) 18:48, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
List of concerts
[edit]This article has a lot of non-notable, unnsourced concerts listed. In addition, most recently an edit about an upcoming Prince concert was added. I reverted that edit per WP:NOTNEWS, but it was restored without explanation. The Prince concert does not include a source to indicate why this is so notable that it needs to be included in the article before it even happens. Let's discuss the edit on this talk page. Thanks, Alanraywiki (talk) 22:01, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- There isn't much to discuss, really. There are a lot of editors who use arena articles to promote, either their favorite band or other entertainer, or I'm guessing that those directly affiliated wtih a particular act have posted such edits. You can bet one of those reasons was the motivation for adding that to the article. Won't be the last time, that's for sure. I just revert such changes when I come across them. They're usually not notable and almost always unsourced. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 02:26, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Article needs a lot of work
[edit]I wish I had time to contribution to this article, but it contains a great deal of unsourced material...concerts listed (many not really notable; this isn't supposed to list every single event ever held here), incorrect information about the LA Kings final game here (it was a 1999-2000 pre-season game, which is still an NHL game). Some quotes lack citations...I could go on.
Hope someone can get this article shaped up, The bullding has a long, rich history and deserves a quality article. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 02:24, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Not Queen's last show in the US
[edit]Just want to point out Queen preformed 2 songs on SNL on September 25th of that year, making that the last Queen show with Mercury in the US, not the 2 Inglewood shows. Maybe it could be reworded somehow?

Bootlegs?
[edit]Does this article need the references to bootleg copies of concerts, especially since none of it has references.

Pink Floyd
[edit]Doesn't the first sentence here fully explain, and make the parenthetical sentence redundant?
"the first time a member of Pink Floyd ever played the Forum (Pink Floyd never played the Forum so Gilmour's appearance was the first and to date only time a Pink Floyd member played the venue)." 2600:1006:B02A:7A4A:0:4B:E171:D401 (talk) 12:10, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
