tidal?

I live on Vancouver Island and have lived here all my life. Countless time i have driven past Kennedy lake on my way to the West Coast, but i have never actually stopped at the lake-- until yesterday. I stopped along the highway to climb down to the lake and i noticed that there was a shoreline. This shoreline appeared to be tidal in nature. Now i know this lake isn't big enough to have its own tide, so what caused this? Is it is a simple waterlevel change associated with the wet and dry season (not that there is really a dry season there)? or could it be there is some sort of man-made dam at the end of the lake controlling the water level? something like 52000 hectares of land drains into kennedy. theres no controlling its level
