WP:MILHIST Assessment

[edit]

A very nice start, with good length and detail, and a nice description of film portrayal. Needs References section. Also, I think it would be nice to standardize the Medal of Honor citations. Take a look at John P. Fardy or John P. Bobo for an example of how other articles have been handling this. Thanks. LordAmeth 16:22, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why in one section does it show that he was born in Seattle Wa & another says Texas? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.246.253.46 (talk) 00:45, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There must be some information missing

[edit]

The article says he was a 2nd Lt. in 10/1943 and was captured in 3/44. I would think at best he finished the war as a Major, more likely a Captain. The article says he left the service after the war and returned during the Korean conflict and flew stateside cargo aircraft for 2 years. I then says he retired from the AF as a full Colonel. He must have served in the guard or reserve after that in order to earn retirement as an O-6, but the article doesn't say so. --rogerd (talk) 04:27, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
