The page title should be isnad and not isnah —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.112.115.231 (talk) 03:48, 16 January 2004

Questions asked about the isnad

[edit]

Reasons for forging Hadith: Many farmers and merchants claimed they sold "Holy cures" (money). Local tradition: Female circumcision, Quote "Circumcision is Fard for males yet Sunnah for females. I read a long study stating the Muhammad never called his own teachings Sunnah and that it is a word used by clergy therfore the Hadith is forged. --The Brain 12:04, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Is this fair description of the origins of the Isnad?

[edit]

I have meddled with the part about how the isnads came about. Kleinecke 19:49, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of the Isnad

[edit]

The prose of Isnad's definition is very weak. It should also be more non-informed friendly. Sdudah 00:56, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge......

[edit]

I have just noticed a page called Chains of Authority. I think that the sources and important points of that page should be merged with this page. Hasseniqbal192 17:42, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That page was deleted as a copyright violation of http://www.minhajuk.org/pdf/ijazat.pdf. {{cite web}}: Missing or empty |title= (help). GRBerry 19:50, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge/redirect

[edit]

I propose that this article be merged with the Science of hadith article. In reality, I am suggesting simply redirecting this page to Science of hadith as it presents no information not found there - in fact that article has more info than this one. Also, this article is entirely unreferenced, whereas that article is referenced. It has has been almost two years since the last edit here... Supertouch (talk) 23:04, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
