[edit]- Two non free media which have fair use rationales.

Music and lyrics
[edit]- "The song opens with a synthesized violin and piano riff which is immediately preceded by a mid-tempo beat"- How is this possible? The song opens with a violin and piano riff and is then preceded by a mid tempo beat? "Preceded" means to come before something. I'm sure you meant that the beat comes after (the Billboard source says this too), so I think you should change "preceded" into "followed".
- Don't know what I was thinking. :P
- I've made changes myself. --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 16:00, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks!
Critical R
[edit]- "chastised" is a very strong word, and usually relates to humans reprimanding and condemning each other. Choose something a little less scathing :P --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 16:16, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- How does "chided" sound?
- How about "criticised"? --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 17:35, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- "At the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, "I Need to Know" received a nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance which went to "Brand New Day" by Sting.[16][17] → "At the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, "I Need to Know" was nominated for for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance,(ref 17/nominations ref here) but lost to English musician Sting's song "Brand New Day". (ref 16/winners ref here).
Works very nice!
- Same problem here - Ref 16 and 17 point to same url and so they both point to only the nominations.
- I'm not seeing it.
- Hmmm... even I cannot now. Maybe there was something wrong with me.
- Any mentioning of "1st Lat.." should be turned into "inaugural"
Done
- Please mention the award ceremony years for both the Grammys and Latin Grammys.
Done
- If both of the ASCAP award refs point out to the same fact, then remove one of them and keep the one you deem fit.
I fixed the 2001 award for the Pop Awards
Chart performance
[edit]- "I Need to Know" was released on August 15, 1999.[28]" - move to the "Background" section. Also mention it being the lead single.
Done
- I must commend you for being able to find the chart movement of such an old song!
Credit goes to my friend Javier Espinoza for starting the article and providing the chart performance in the US.
- Remember that numbers smaller than 10 are written in full (3 → three, 5 → five) as per Wikipedia:ORDINAL. I have made the changes for you. If I have missed any, please change them.
Thanks!
- From what I can see from the year end chart source, the song ranked at number 73 on the Hot 100 and at number 20 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart. From where did number 23 pop up? If I'm wrong, please correct me.
Done
- "In Europe, the song peaked at number 16 in Austria,[41] number 8 in Finland,[42] number 17 in Germany,[43] number 18 in the Netherlands,[28] number 11 in Norway,[44] number 19 in Sweden,[45] number 16 in Switzerland,[46] and number 28 in the United Kingdom" - this reads in a pretty boring list like way. I suggest mentioning the peaks of only those countries in which it reached the top ten, or was close to (like in Norway).
- Seeing as how it didn't reach the top ten in any of the European, I don't know what to put in.
- "number 17 in Germany" - the source mentions its "best place" was number 15. 17 was the amount of weeks it spent in total. This has also been proven by this official source, which I think is better to use.
Done
- Not a part of the review- it just reached number 20 but still went gold. I will never understand ARIA. Anthony won't beat Kylie though.
- "You Sang to Me" did better in the US than "I Need to Know" yet it wasn't certified gold by the RIAA so I have no idea either. And I have no doubt Kyle is better than Anthony when it comes to pop (I only like "I Need to Know", "You Sang to Me", and maybe "I Need You" and "Rain Over Me"). When it comes to salsa though, no one comes close in my opinion.
Promo
[edit]- From the various sources, I can gather that his performances of the song indeed received rave reviews, so I think you should mention that.
- How does it look now?
Charts
[edit]- You're a master at charts so hopefully there isn't much to correct.
- Heh.
- Change the German peak as mentioned above.
Done
Certs
[edit]- Why don't you mention the sales/shipments amounts too? It would be better to.
Done
- "contrast to Anthony's confidential performances" - confidential? Why? Did he keep them inside a top secret file? :P I'm sure you meant "confident".
Lead
[edit]- I hate to see all the work being piled up on the nominator, so I improved the lead myself.
Now I'm putting the article on hold until the above concerns are addressed.--WonderBoy1998 (talk) 18:29, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! Just gotta finish up on the live performances review now.
- I have made a few changes myself and now I'm passing the article. Congrats and great work! --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 06:51, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Scissor sound
[edit]When listening to this song, one will notice an instrument that in my opinion sounds like scissors. Does anybody know what instrument that is? If you listen to The Game of Love by Santana and Michelle Branch, you'll hear a similar sound in the background and the same sound is heard in the opening to Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones and Merry Clayton (and this song is probably the best example as you can clearly hear the scissor-like sound in the opening compared to the other two where you have to really listen to hear it). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moline1 (talk • contribs) 01:57, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
