Requested move
[edit]I understand that notability of Fan websites is often questioned, so I am putting the article up for discussion before moving it to the main namespace. My thoughts are that Heroes Wiki meets Wikipedia's requirements for notability based on its references in the news articles and the uniqueness of it being an independent wiki that has partnered with an American television network, NBC. Also of note, there are other articles for fan wikis connected to shows and movies such as Lostpedia, Wookieepedia, and Memory Alpha, and it seems those articles are listed mainly for the media coverage (Impact) alone. I think there is enough information to warrant giving Heroes Wiki an article of its own, and much of the information would not be appropriate in the Heroes TV article. In a week's time, I'll move it to the main namespace if there is no problem with doing so.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:16, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- Hello... I see you are preparing to submit this to article space. Per our previous discussion, I'll try to give it a copy edit in the next day or so. Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 18:34, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I have copy-edited the text. The biggest changes involve removing excess detail that is not needed. (It made the article appear too promotional in nature.) Good work overall. --Ckatzchatspy 07:00, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the copy-edit. I've fixed a punctuation you left off and changed the link for the International Sites to point to the list of multilingual wikis, but it was a good trim.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:42, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Images
[edit]I am leaving the images (the logo and main page screenshot) as links for now so they can be reviewed while the page is being considered for the mainspace. If they are set to display, bots will remove them as non-free images do not belong in the userspace. Use this link to view an old revision of the page where the images are shown.--MiamiVolts (talk) 06:10, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Influence on the show
[edit]Sylar's ability's name, intuitive aptitude, was coined in the website. One editor suggested that as a description of his "learning by analyzing" ability. It was accepted by the community. Later on, the show runners accepted that and made it canon - on the comic books, I believe. The fan made Wiki was influential to this level. Worth mentioning, if anyone could find a source.
