Metric usage or practice

[edit]

In Grating#Grating as bridge decks some one changed mm to cm. That in itself is not "bad" but it should be noted that on engineering drawings the dimensions of components is given as mm rather than as cm. Only on European architectural drawings would those dimensions be given as cm. Likewise it is not metric practice to give 0 decimals as in 24 in (61.0 cm) or 24 in (61.0 cm) but rather 24 in (61 cm) or 24 in (61 cm) regardless of the tolerance that in this application is likely to be as mm.
