Five Dhyani Buddhas
[edit]This is an alternative way of saying Five Dhyani Buddhas and should be merged with that article --Dakinijones (talk) 18:50, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- The same could be said of the Triple Gem and the Three Roots which are just different ways of saying the same thing. Though many practitioners in the Buddhadharma may have a challenge with this congruency if they are not aware of the full Three Turnings. The Pancha Jinas and the Pancha Jnana are in a sense synonymous but also distinct and therefore warrant separate articles for clarity. We are unrestricted by storage space so let's explore the possibility of AND. Moreover, if we pursued your contention the variagated texture and perspective of historicity would collapse. There are waves of historical developments and their associated waves of dissemination in the Buddhadharma. The overlay of the Jina as a key to the esotericism of the congruencies of all the ennumerations of five is a modern syncretism. The Five Wisdoms is attested to have first entered the literature with the Buddhabhūmi-vyākhyāna of Śilabhadra who unfortunately has had precious little written on him in Western discourse.

- Concede to your point Hummingbird... But now we need someone to re-write the page so it can be understood by someone who doesn't already know what the 5 wisdoms are... --Dakinijones (talk) 17:49, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
It's confusing because you come out of the article not knowing anything more about the Five Wisdoms than you went in knowing, which is: nothing. I have no idea what this article is trying to say, and I still have no idea what the Five Wisdoms are, because I didn't see any wisdoms related, and so I definitely didn't count five of them. There are 6 nomenclatures and 6 iconographic representation, none of which do I understand why they're listed.Corjay (talk) 04:40, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Clean-up
[edit]I've removed the unreadable stuff, and added some comprehensible stuff. Soryy B9; your intuitions were correct, I think, but the way you've worked it out is very hard to follow. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 14:12, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
