Trap Queen
[edit]Trap Queen by Fetty Wap is now in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. It's notable enough to have it's own article on Wikipedia. Nikki Lee 1999 (talk) 01:24, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- Nikki Lee 1999, it can be if there is enough information for an article. For example, Drake Bell's single "I Know" hit number 1 in Mexico, but I find it difficult to find info. If you can find enough, then it does warrant an article. -- Joseph Prasad (talk) 01:27, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- OMG. I recognize your name. HAHHA! What are the odds that of all the people on the internet, we would meet in two different places. Nikki Lee 1999 (talk) 17:44, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Fetty Wap's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

"Congenital" glaucoma?
[edit]In the link that serves as a source for the claim that he had congenital glaucoma, he says he got into an accident as a child which caused him to develop the disease. Since "congenital" means from birth, I think it's safe to say that a) he does not understand what the word congenital means and b) that means the word should be omitted from descriptions of how he lost his eye. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.213.7 (talk) 20:17, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

In the first paragraph it says Trap Queen peaked at number 3, it changed to rank 2 yesterday
Chrozze (talk) 13:22, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
why is this page even protected this way? i wanted to change this to no. 2 too, but i can't, even logged in. Are the hip-hop/music editors on wikipedia (is there even such a thing?) not keeping up with current news? this is a huge accomplishment that hasn't been done for years (no.1 and no.2 belonging to hip-hop acts). whatever protection is on this page is preventing fans to keep it up to date.

Fetty Wap was born with Glaucoma

Fetty Wap is actually 23 years old he confirmed it via his offical Twitter account, https://twitter.com/fettywap/status/605832186122485760 Geminiszn (talk) 21:21, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
- Not done: Judging only on the few words in that post, it's hard to tell whether he's saying he bought the house just now at 23, or whether it was a video he recorded a while ago and just posting now. Either way, this LA Times article confirms he was 24 years old on April 13, 2015, and this post on The Boom Box appears to confirm a birth date on June 7, 1990, although I am not sure of the total reliability of the second source. In any case, I'd like to see more solid confirmation from Mr. Fetty Wap if he wants to say he's really 23 right now. Mz7 (talk) 06:12, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
He was born with glaucomo, not developed as a child
[edit]Actually he was born with gluacoma. His mother says it in this TMZ interview. He admits he thought he developed it as a child, but his mom said he was born with it. But I don't know how to edit this page. The source is in this TMZ video on YouTube. You can search "Fetty Wap TMZ" It didn't let me put the direct youtube link here. Fetty Wap Haitian descent?
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
"Wille Maxwell was raised in a housing project in Paterson, New Jersey, and is of Haitian descent."
It says he is of Haitian descent in the first sentence in the section "Life and career", but he's clarified in a few interviews that he is not Haitian. See: http://www.lunionsuite.com/videos-fetty-wap-cant-nobody-tell-me-im-not-haitian/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5c4dJGg8Dg (he says he's not at 1:30). I think everything after the comma should be removed. gigo333 (talk) 18:43, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Being "of Haitian descent" is not the same as being Haitian. Bazj (talk) 09:21, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- The sources I provided indicate that he is not of Haitian descent. They are not asking him if he is a citizen of Haiti, as they know he is from Patterson, NJ. The original assertion that he is of Haitian descent is inadequately supported by the supposed sources listed (the instagram posts), so it should be removed. They say nothing claiming he is of Haitian descent, so it should never have been mentioned in the first place. In the video interviews I provided, he states that he wears the Haitian flag because his daughter's grandma is Haitian. gigo333 (talk) 21:10, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- Done You're right. Three interview videos confirm this. He performs with the Haitian flag uniformly and wears it for his daughter's grandmother who passed and has since then grown an appreciation for the Haitian culture. 17:36 1:15 1:34 Savvyjack23 (talk) 06:52, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

"Willie Maxwell (born June 7, 1990), better known by his stage name Fetty Wap, is a sexy, beautiful rapper from Paterson, New Jersey."
In the above line, I feel that adding "sexy" and "beautiful" are unnecessary contributions to the page. This is an opinion. Not factual. Instead, it should just say that he is a rapper.

Under the section labelled "As Featured Artist" please add "(Production by Jake Cregan)" underneath the artist description for the track "Lit" This track is listed as the final track that he was featured on in 2014. The production credit should be added to the track as it is clearly listed under the official release notes for the track.
The two sources indicated below are official releases by the main artist in the song and clearly provide appropriate production credit.
Reliable sources: 1. https://soundcloud.com/steve-stylez/lit-fetty-wap-x-mike-rosa-x-dmills For the first source, the production credit has been added underneath the copyright information
2. https://www.audiomack.com/song/stevestylez12/fetty-wap-x-mike-rosa-x-dmills-1 For this source, the producer credit has also been added, verifying that "Jake Cregan" is the producer of the song.

Names of non-notable people in his personal life
[edit]I don't think we really need the names of all of his children and their mothers and the father of the girl to whom he is not biologically related but is described as a "father figure" for. Most of these people do not seem notable, and unnecessarily including their names raises privacy concerns. See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Presumption in favor of privacy. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:31, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

- I'm not exactly certain on what to do in these cases, but you could perhaps cite the website's search page, with his full name as the title.
- My revert was mostly concerned with the inclusion of an inmate number in the infobox, as it seemed like trivia unsuited for Wikipedia. Regardless if BOP is sourced or not, the inmate number is probably not appropriate. FutureFlowsLoveYou (talk) 12:53, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
Origin of his stage name
[edit]In order to help make this article more properly encyclopedic, shouldn't we explain the origin of his stage name? Is "fetty" a slang term for money, derived from the word "feddy," which is slang for federal income? Or is "fetty" a slang term for fentanyl? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 22:52, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
