Eating out and Going for a drink sections

[edit]

I'm not sure if this information is useful. I'm concerned about NPOV since only a few restaurants are highlighted and are usually recommnded. I think it's salvageable, though I don't see quite how to fix it right now. If you can find a way to write these sections in more objective language, please go for it! OK, I have had a go, see what you think. Hope I am not causing you too much work, thanks for your comments. I will have to have a bit of a think about what could be added to the Erding page generally.

I have a camera and it would be easy eneough for me to go out and take a couple of photos to give a feel of downtown Erding, its an attractive enough place to make a picture or two worthwhile.

My goal for the article would be to give people a better feel for what it might be like to visit Erding - I dont know how compatable that is with Wiki standards (mental note: must read these a bit to avoid too many raps on knuckles).

Other ideas I have are more adding more statistics about the town, but I dont want the tone to become too dry. I know its an encylopedia, but it should still be fun to read. Adriannzde 12:47, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, pictures are good! Don't overload it with pictures, but a few shots would bee useful. Especially one of the main downtown area and one of, say, the Farmers Market. Also useful would be a fair-use/public-domain map showing where Erding is in the region, plus a distance from Munich—the reader can't tell from the article whether Munich is 5 km away or 50.

That said, it's a great start to the article, doubly if it's all original writing. Too many of the articles on US towns are very dry recitations of facts from geography and census books, about how much land area the city has, population make-up, etc. Also, I like the revisions you made; IMHO, they're nice improvements! Thanks for your contributions so far, and I look forward to seeing more of them! --C.Fred 16:33, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

I am not sure if the picture "At the Farmers Market." was taken in Erding. I doubt that very much because the sign "Kasweckerl" (which means "cheese buns") sounds very like austrian dialect, not baverian. Furthermore i lived in Erding for nearly 20 Years and i have never seen this store? Kölly —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.84.22.56 (talk) 12:48, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History and archaeology

[edit]

I am currently working on a dig "somewhere" very near to Erding. We should be finished shortly and the report will hopefully be out in a few months.I am not writing the report so it will not count as own research. As soon as it is out I can post some stuff up on recent work (we had Hallstatt/La Tene, Roman but mainly early Medieval remains) if no one objects?
