Picture
[edit]- Why the heck is there no picture? Scott Paeth 05:33, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- It got deleted. Load of balls pal. --PopUpPirate 10:00, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
I wrote the Evolution thing since I saw some notes on bits and pieces on album covers around wikipedia and felt it needed explaining somewhere. Someone make it a little more presentable please? Its not excellently written
(The Elfoid 22:55, 17 August 2006 (UTC))
What about somethings that points out to Lord Raptor's connection with Eddie? --2dMadness 20:17, 19 August 2006 (UTC) Raptor is based on Eddie so its worth puting somewhere but he didn't contribute to Eddie as abeing I think (The Elfoid 18:02, 22 August 2006 (UTC))
Unnessecary story
[edit]Okay, 1st of all, there's no citation for the story of Eddie's body told by whoever-it-is. Also, it's just unnessecary. It tells the same story as the above one, and with all the "umm"s in it, it's really hard to read. So I'm deleting it. Thhhh (talk) 22:12, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Benjamin Breeg?
[edit]we all know about the song "the reincarnation of benjamin breeg" on the new album, right? And harris refuses to say who breeg is. well a friend of mine told me about breeg, he was an occult obsessed painter/writer who vanished in the late 70's His cousin runs a website www.benjaminbreeg.co.uk trying to track breeg down.
Anyway he took a photo of one of breeg's paintings, an eerie face in an abstract painting. It was done in 1977. It looks like eddie.
although eddie's look didn't solidify until a few albums in, he looks more and more like breeg's painting with each release. could there be a connection?
There'll be some connection, we just don't know what. IMO Eddie IS Breeg but we'll have to wait and see. (The Elfoid 11:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC))
The site you're referring to is listed as having been created on October 18, 2006. The first listing is dated in July, just one month before the album (A Matter of Life and Death) came out. I'm not entirely sure if this means it's definitely fake or not, but it seems entirely too coincidental. The most likely explanation is that Benjamin Breeg is a publicity stunt meant to trick people into researching him, and unknowingly advertising the album for free. Sorry guys, Benjamin Breeg is now, what Eddie was to the 80's... Iron Maiden's fictional character, shrouded in mystery, to make sure people pay attention to what the band has to say. Evolution
[edit]Okay, the evolution bit looks horridly speculative. How about just a simple chronology of Eddie's change in appearance. -TheHande 16:47, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
The new one you wrote I don't like either, but (yeah I wrote a lot of the previous one) agree mine was pretty horrible. You left out talk of continuity which was a shame e.g. Powerslave having the first 'non humanoid' eddie and the whole 'keep his lobotomy for slave/live after death/somewhere/seventh' ten its removal. Mix what was there and what yo ugot and it'll be sorted. (The Elfoid 00:51, 7 November 2006 (UTC))
Eddie actually first came around due to their second vocalist, Dennis Wilcock when he used to draw a sword between his mouth and burst blood pouches. After he left, they used a large mask with blood comming out of its mouth that represented him and this was the beggining of Eddie. Watch the 'Early Days' DVD and you'll see what i mean. (Callaby).

El Dorado is not a single - it's a free mp3 download which distributed in a promo case to media. There is no reference that it IS a single - despite some of the places receiving the promo claiming it was a single, it is not available for sale commercially.
Lord Iffy Boatrace
[edit]Eddie also makes a brief literary appearance in Bruce Dickenson's first novel "The Adventures Of Lord Iffy Boatrace". Not sure if he appears in the sequel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.128.193 (talk) 04:05, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Proper capitalization of Eddie's name
[edit]Hello all, I would like to point out a repeated error here that I have just corrected. Eddie's name, when discussing his full name, needs to follow naming capitalization rules. Inotherwords, "The" is his middle name - which is also clearly indicated in the article:
- "Eddie's full name is Edward The Head (Edward T.H–– the remainder of his surname is hidden by a clump of soil on the Live After Death cover.)"
Note, it's Edward T. H(ead), which establishes T(he) as his middle name, and thus not used/capitalized as it's normal adjective form. Odd, huh? But, if a word is used as a name, it gets capitalized as a name - just as is done for other people, towns, cities, etc. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 18:12, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Who is the guy in the picture?
[edit]I take it that the lead picture represents a body painted man. Does anyone know who he really is? JIP | Talk 20:29, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- It's one of the roadies in a suit. The man is believed to be Ashley Groom, who works as a set carpenter- this is only known to Maiden fans who have circulated his identity on the online forums. Unfortunately, as this isn't documented by any "reliable" sources, this information cannot be included in the article, although bass technician and keyboard player Michael Kenney does hint at it in this interview- http://www.darrellmillar.com/rclmichaelkenney.htm --Nerdtrap (talk) 22:31, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Better Picture
[edit]The somethere in Time picture isn't representativ, becasuse he only appears in one album that way. It would be better to use a more "typical" picture of eddie. Important features, seen in most pictures are :
- long, white hair
- (in some post piece of mind pictures) bald or short hair and scar on the forehead
- tall and skinny appearance
- wrinkled and grey skin
- sunken, white glowing eyes
- lined face
- evil smile
- rotted white t-shirt
- jeans
--79.200.66.52 (talk) 16:12, 21 June 2014 (UTC) OK, I see the problem, that the actual album-covers are labeled with "only to illustrate the audio recording". The Question is, if this is an actual legal term from the fair use licence ? As the copyright owner are Iron Maiden (in fact their holding corporation), it should be fair use to illustrate them with an album cover. And this article is basically an "outsourced" webpage from the Wikipedia article about Iron Maiden, so it is in fact illustrating Iron Maiden. Another possible approach is, to write under the picture, "This is the album cover of ..." to ensure it is associated with the album. Websites who write reviews about albums, often use album covers in their overview page, that links to the individual rewviews, so it should count as illustration, to use it on a page, that links to pages about the audio recording. Other possible approcahes would be to use a photography of an album, or just ask the Iron Maiden holding for permission to use an album cover to illustrate an article about Eddie (As this is promotion for free they probably would agree). In general, the current article is in a horrible state, leaving out essential points, like the general appearance of Eddie, and beeing to verbose about obscure corner cases. The stuff with the skateboard video game should definitly not be in the introduction. -- 79.200.66.52 (talk) 16:33, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Beazley or Beasley?
[edit]In the first paragraph of Background the name of Dave "Lights" is spelt differently in the first and second sentence. 194.28.127.55 (talk) 00:31, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
New Image
[edit]The page needs a new image, I was thinking of a table with all of Eddie's studio appearances but I am having trouble creating a table. Horrorcomicnerd (talk) 19:01, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

- You are the one that edit warred to remove the image. It already had an image that was accepted. Di (they-them) (talk) 00:20, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- The current image is not very good and has Bruce front and center. I think a table or collage with all of Eddie's studio album covers from the first album all the way to Senjutsu to show how Eddie has evolved over the years would be perfect. I don't think a live appearance be it either background art or costume, should be the primary image and the image should at least be a studio album cover. Background
[edit]The first version of the mask (that spat fake blood during the song Iron Maiden) is not associated with the fact that it replaced the stunt performed earlier by the former singer, Dennis Wilcock, who used blood capsules and a sword. 2001:B07:646D:7095:A18E:37D7:5DD1:722B (talk) 18:30, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
