- New enough, long enough, QPQ checks out. Nothing on earwig. Hook is sourced, but seems quite generic to all drought. Is it trying to make a specific point about the call for prayer? I can see the hooky appeal from the source ("led the religious affairs directorate to instruct imams and their congregations to pray for rain"), but I don't think this comes out that clearly in the proposed wording. It might be more interesting to specifically focus on the prayer instruction. I would also suggest expanding the lead a bit further. CMD (talk) 13:29, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- I have added a tad more to the lead. The hook idea was to start generically and then surprise the reader. If you or anyone else has a suggestion for an alternative hook I will be glad to hear it. Chidgk1 (talk) 14:17, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- I understand the hook idea, but I don't think it quite comes off without the context that it was an official government order. An alternative to creating an alternative hook might be adding "officially sanctioned methods" to the start of ALT0, eg. "...that officially sanctioned methods to combat drought in Turkey...". - OK fine Chidgk1 (talk) 05:47, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- Passing, the promoter is welcome to go with the original hook given the preference of the nominator if they feel my view on the wording was a bid too pedantic. CMD (talk) 07:17, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
