Japanese transliteration in the lede

[edit]

@HumanxAnthro, your edit was contested, so you know to take it to the talk page for discussion rather than edit warring it back in, yes? I know the guideline because I helped write it. This is not a "Japanese" game by any means—it was not created in Japan or released first in Japan. WP:VG/JP is very clear that since this game is not primarily known by a non-Latin alphabet title, it doesn't need the transliterated listing. The footnote part is only about when there is a reason to have a transliteration but it is overwhelming to list it out in the lede, which is a different situation. (The Japan release date also shouldn't be listed in the infobox, per WP:VG/DATE.) Please revert your edit. czar 03:22, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clarification about the guideline. User:HumanxAnthro (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 12:48, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DK Rap libel

[edit]

"The "DK Rap", a song featured in the introduction, garnered notoriety as one of the worst songs to feature in a video game."

Says who?? The DK rap is iconic and everybody unironically loves it. The statement above is unsourced. If not removed, the least that could be done is to add that the rap has since then grown on players. Barefoot Banana (talk) 23:22, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The lede citation was erroneously removed here. It's been restored. czar 04:35, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's a good thing that it is sourced now, although the contents of the claim cause me great emotional distress. Barefoot Banana (talk) 11:07, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
