Controversy and Deaths
[edit]If memory serves, this is a controversial building, as many of the Marcos-built ones are, including stories about people who died during its construction being buried in the concrete. Such should be mentioned in this article but I am not expert enough to add it. Overall, this article sounds like a PR piece, copied from some website, and not like a proper Wikipedia encyclopedia article. --Bruce Hall (talk) 06:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Re: "Controversy and Deaths", I think it was the Manila Film Center (located in the same CCP Complex). See http://blogs.gmanews.tv/sidetrip/blog/?/archives/42-The-Manila-Film-Center-mystery-A-ghostly-place-or-an-urban-legend.html
A historical error (and falsification), is the CCP logo's designer. It was actually designed by Alfredo "Ding" Roces, and not Carlos "Botong" Francisco. I will contact Ding Roces and correct to long-time error. - Fatima Lasay

CCP Complex
[edit]Help on the edits on all the the buildings and establishment inside the CCP complex. Like the Star City, Coconut Palace, Hotels, Folk Arts Theater and all others. From theme parks to government buildings to make this page more comprehensive.

Proposal to split the article
[edit]This article seems to cover two topics: 1.) The government corporation that promotes arts and culture and provides performance spaces; and 2.) The complex of buildings situated in the reclaimed area of Bay City. While the government entity owns and operates many of the venues there, it is not all cultural structures found in the complex and not all are owned or operated by the government. The article also mixes the National Arts Center with other CCP Complex venues when it is not at all located within the complex, but in faraway Los Baños. I propose a separate article for the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Bay City, Pasay that discusses the structures and architecture of only those within the Complex.--RioHondo (talk) 14:51, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with this proposal, split the article as per WP:CONSPLIT.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 11:43, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- The question is if the Tanghalang Pambansa (National Theater) is synonymous with the CCP Complex? Alternately, a separate article could be made for the National Theater. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 11:58, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- CCP Complex is generally understood to be the area where the CCP is located. And by CCP, i mean the government entity that is the topic of this article which is headquartered in the National Theater of the CCP Complex. It's like Batasang Pambansa is the government entity, Batasang Pambansa Complex is the complex of buildings in Quezon City that houses (or used to house the Batasang Pambansa) and has the Batasang Pambansa Building (Main), North Wing Bldg, South Wing Bldg, Ramon Mitra Building, etc. Unlike Batasang Pambansa Complex or Malacanang Palace tho, the main building of CCP has a different name (National Theater or Tanghalang Pambansa) so it can stand as its own article. Ideally all the structures there in the CCP Complex should have their own articles given their historical and architectural significance. Will need your help on this one hehe. :)--RioHondo (talk) 16:29, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- Done. The complex is now at Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex and a separate article too for the Tanghalang Pambansa.--RioHondo (talk) 11:54, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
