[edit]Can anyone add an explanation of name “Caldor”?
Answer: the fire started near the town of Caldor.
Question: why bother dropping water on a fire that evaporates most of the water before it even gets a chance to help, and why not cut a 50’ fire line at the peaks in the direction the fire will head towards. Clearly plenty of time to cut lines around communities in the area.
