Article name
[edit]The article on the German band BAP is called "BAP (German band)". Why is it that there's no additional "(South Korean band)" on this article's title? It's not objective if one band has an additional explanation in the title and the other doesn't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.94.242.17 (talk) 08:25, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Seperate pages for B.A.P members.
[edit]Is there any way that we can get article pages for the other B.A.P members? So far Zelo is the only one with his own Wikipedia page. I understand that for some members there may not be enough information, but there should be enough information for Bang Yong Guk and Himchan to get their own Wikipedia pages.
Thanks.

:So you a baby/warrior, right? I'm the one who worked on Zelo, I was going to do Himchan's and BYG's pages next but I got busy furnishing Secret's pages. It takes time and effort to create articles. If you're really interested in B.A.P you can compile facts and infos about each members and put the website where you gathered that info cause its the most important part. You can do it in MS Word or in your own user page. Mazic (talk) 12:25, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- Done. :) All of them are still in the "Start" class except for BYG because the other's have no sufficient information about their backgrounds and only BYG has been pretty much active in the past. Mazic (talk) 18:18, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

The members list needs to get updated! Moon Jongup is listed as just a 'member' but in fact he is the main dancer. Here is the source to their official website where their profiles are listed. http://www.tsenter.co.kr/bapwarrior Please change this as soon as possible! (change the 'member' to 'main dancer', because it's common sence that he is the member just as the other five. Thank you! 83.249.252.168 (talk) 12:02, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

I would like to request that the Members section of the B.A.P page be edited. It says "Jongup (종업) Member[26]" I think instead of saying "Member" it should say "Main Dancer". This is because it's obvious that he's a member like the rest of them, but on this page it has written all of the individual members' roles except for his. I think my request is fair. Here is proof. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jong_Up At the top of the page in the second sentence it says "He is best known as the main dancer of the South Korean K-pop group, B.A.P." Members section- with legitimate sources.
[edit]Hello, the last person who has edited the members section has completely messed it all up. I'd like to have that fixed, and I will provide as many sources as possible. Bang Yongguk is not only their leader, but also the main rapper. Kim Himchan is a sub-vocalist and the visual/face of the group. Jung Daehyun is a lead vocal. Yoo Youngjae is also a lead vocal. Moon Jongup is the main dancer and a sub-vocalist. Zelo is the lead dancer, lead rapper, and maknae.
Some of this info is shown on their official Japanese site, but it is vague. This is the most reliable fan page to date of B.A.P, with full member profiles and such: http://itsbap.com/yongguk <- that is Yongguk's profile, and each other member's profile can be shown by clicking their name to the right of the page. I will search and provide further info if needed, but the current members list is appalling. It makes them all look like nothing.

Jongup's status as "member"...
[edit]There are lack of articles written in English that states Jongup as the main dancer of the group. One of the limited ones include that listed on their official website (http://bap-official.jp/profile/index/). With all due respect but listing him as a "member" because of a early article that lacks correct information just does not make sense. Jongup have stated in multiple interviews that he is the main dancer of the group; would transcripts of those interview be a valid source, according to your definition of a "valid source"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumdingwrungwitme (talk • contribs) 11:50, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

I am very grateful for all the hard work that has gone into this page. However, I would really like to request a change of description when it comes to Jongup, who is listed simply as a "Member" of B.A.P. Whilst this is of course true, I think it would be much more valuable for fans to recognize his actual position in B.A.P, as "Main Dancer". I understand that sources are very important here. I can offer more than one to you that I hope you can understand and take into consideration as truth.
1.) http://bap-official.jp/profile/index/ - This is B.A.PS's offical Japanese site, confirmed by TSENT. If we go to the profile page and select "Jongup", this image appears http://bap-official.jp/images/profile/name_moon01.png. Please, please notice that the terms "Dance" and "Vocal" are used, and there is no mention of him simply being a "Member". As this is an accurate, offical, and reliable B.A.P source, I think this should be something to base member information off.
2.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jong_Up - Jongup's own Wikepedia page states "known as the main dancer of the South Korean K-pop group, B.A.P."
3.) http://itsbap.com/jongup - This is a very popular tumblr blog dedicated to member of B.A.P. As you can see, they have recognized Jongup as the main dancer, and so many fans feed off this information.
4.) http://sumandu.wordpress.com/kpop-profiles/boy-groups/b-a-p-best-absolute-perfect-profile/ - This site is the highest views "K-pop Profile Generator" on the web. As you can see, they also state Jongup to be the "Main Dancer".
5.) http://www.tsenter.co.kr/bapwarrior - This is B.A.P's Official Korean Website. If you click the image of Jongup (http://www.tsenter.co.kr/Files/Templet/bapwarrior/main/Img_L_3.jpg) it shows the Jongup is in fact associated with "Dance" and "Vocal" skills, and is a property of TSENT. If you are unwilling to state that he is in-fact the "Main Dancer", at least put into the context that he is internationally know as the "Dancer" and "Sub Vocalist."
6.) http://www.mtvk.com/videos/b-a-p-on-the-road-to-global-domination/ - According to some of your other sources (e.g https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.A.P [27]) you see "MTVK" as a reliable source, reliable enough to see it as a confirmation of members roles. In this video, it clearly shows Jongup saying "I'm B.A.P's vocalist and main dancer Jong Up." (0:55) If I may just point out that there has been a translation error here, as what the subtitles have quoted Jongup as a "coreographer", he is does in fact say "Main Dancer" instead.
7.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaZDH9GSxPc - SuKiRa is a VERY popular radio station in korea, listened to by thousands of korean citizens. At the 9:34 mark, we see the interviewee ask "then the member who dances the best?" B.A.P member daehyun answers by saying "it would be our two maknaes (jongup and zelo)". As this was aired to a lot of people, do you not think that this is a piece of correct and reliable information, since it was confirmed by members of B.A.P.
I do not mean to come out rude and I apologize if I have, but I honestly believe that this needs to be changed.
If I may offer an example, I would like to select his fellow member "Youngjae". According to his wikepedia page, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youngjae)* he is "known mononymously" as the "Lead vocalist of a popular South Korean K-pop group, B.A.P." This is a true statement, however Jongup is also "known mononymously" as the "Main Dancer", so I am confused as to why this has not been stated.
I am aware that you have "sourced" this fact on Youngjae's Wikepedia page * as [1]. Yet, when I followed the link given, I see no evidence of him being the "Lead Vocalist", so I am unaware of why this page has been used as a source for this information.
I am also confused over the fact that on Jongup's Wikepedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jongup), the information stated: "known as main dancer of South Korean K-pop group, B.A.P" is given the same source of [1], yet with an added link of [not in citation given]. This is concerning, as none of the other members had this beside their [1] source.
It is upsetting as a fan (this is shared by the fandom) when Jongup's role in B.A.P in not stated, and the rest of the Members have theirs clearly stated when they have no more evidence than Jongup.
Jongup has made it clear in almost every interview he has ever partaken, that he is the "Main Dancer" and "Sub-vocalist", as his fellow members have addressed their positions the same way. He has always been given many solo dance stages during music videos, concerts and fanmeets, as well as singing roles in songs, plus he is also the member selected to partake in "dance battles" as well as showing his dancing skills on "variety shows".
I am not sure of what you define as a "valid source", but those already provided in the member list are not valid, and the ones I have posted above (1.), 2.), 3.), 4.), 5.), 7.) are.
Giving Jongup the title of a mere "member" due to the error of previous articles, is really not suitable to match current affairs and well-know facts with thin the fandom, and not to mention the K-pop industry.
Please think about my words and assess the truth and well-being behind them.
Thank you reading, I hope I have made a successful difference to Jongup's profile.

BAP has planned a comeback for February 2014 and the article should be changed to state their scheduled comback ( The Third of February ) and the album name ( First Sensibility ) along with the promotional track ( 1004 (Angel) ) The title track is pronounced chun-sa, meaning the number 1004, or Angel, in Korean.

BAP
[edit]The missing dot B.A.P (missing) is not enough to distinguish from other B.A.P. at BAP. Hence should really be WP:MOVEd to B.A.P (Korean band), given BAP (German band). This should be uncontroversial? In ictu oculi (talk) 00:08, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- I think WP:HAT is enough to distinguish between both bands. However, if a move is necessary, B.A.P (K-pop band) might be a better choice because "Korean" refers to both S.Korean and N.Korean. This makes it a rather ambiguous term to describe nationality. -A1candidate (talk) 16:59, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

No disbandment (Confirmation now available)
[edit]The statement says they left TS. All the sources say they left TS. Not one says B.A.P disbanded.-K-popguardian (talk) 04:50, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
A statement has released from Jongup saying quote "We never said anything about disbanding." The statement also said that the group plans to reunite in the future and for the moment will focus on solo promotions. So now it's confirmed the group is still together.
https://entertain.naver.com/now/read?oid=421&aid=0003838640 -K-popguardian (talk) 20:58, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- I'd argue that this is in fact a disbandment. What the members say, and TS Entertainment not specifically claiming disbandment, is irrelevant. Kara's Youngji also said Kara didn't disband following the expiration of the contracts of the other members [1], but that clearly is not the case. There are sources that say B.A.P has disbanded, like eDaily (in Korean) and The Korea Herald (in English). The former also states that TS holds the rights to the "B.A.P" trademark, meaning that they wouldn't be able to regroup under the same name anyway. Youngjae has also signed with a new agency, while the others have not [2]. Hardly a sign of them sticking together. Their statements reflect their hopes to maybe someday reunite. In reality, they have simply disbanded. ℯxplicit 01:35, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
SS501 and Beast had the same issues, but the former is regrouping under CI Entertainment while the latter established their own agency and became Highlight. So I wouldn't be so quick to assume if I were you. Epik High was also split between labels for a year when Tablo signed to YG and the others were still under Woollim. T-ara and Sunny Hill are also split to different labels and have said they aren't disbanding, but that doesn't seem to qualify as disbandment here either.-K-popguardian (talk) 04:21, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- @K-popguaedian: You wanted disbandment not to be mentioned unless a source actually says they have disbanded, however, now that there are sources which say this, you still don’t agree. There are sources, reliable sources, which confirm this. There’re is no reason for it not to be included anymore. If they do infact regroup later on, then change the information with new information provided. Your summary said that sources aren’t able to prove evidence of disbandment, and you aren’t able to provide evidence against it. As mentioned above, a Kara member also said they weren’t disbanding, when that isn’t the case.
I’m going to tag a few other editors to see their opinions and open this discussion a little more. @DanielleTH:, @Snowflake91: @Abdotorg:, @NicklausAU:, @Evaders99:. Alexanderlee (talk) 22:07, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- According to Korea Herald they are disbanded so lets use that as a source. Snowflake91 (talk) 22:42, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
That source was used before Jongup made his statement. Its not reliable. Also, in the case of Kara, SS501 took 9 years to regroup, and Hyunjoon was the one who said they weren't disbanding, though I don't recall any of you doing this in the last 9 years.-K-popguardian (talk) 22:50, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yes it is reliable, Korea Herald is one of the most reliable sources out there. As people above have said, it DOESN'T matter what the members are saying or wishing because that is a primary source, if media outlets reports them as disbanded then they are disbanded, if they will regroup later we can change it then, but for now they are disbanded. - @K-popguardian: SS501 taking nine years to regroup, are you suggesting that Wikipedia should wait almost a decade before updating the state of a group, on the off chance that they may regroup? Alexanderlee (talk) 23:03, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Alexanderlee: I'm saying y'all need to make up your mind and stop bending the rules on every company departure based on your own personal interpretations and bias, and maybe people will actually say this is an accurate source. Because I'm pretty sure Kim Hyun-joong was a member of SS501, unless I'm wrong.-K-popguardian (talk) 23:10, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- @K-popguardiam: Right now you’re the one who seems to be biased. They’ve left the company, reports re reporting this as disbandment. You said yourself it took nine years for SS501 to regroup. I haven’t been editing for nine years, but I’m pretty sure that calling them an active group during that time when they clearly weren’t, is very misleading. Stating they were disbanded would have likely been done, and if it wasn’t, that isn’t relative here. B.A.P may very well regroup, and like I said if that happens then update with the new information. But right now, I don’t see any real reason not to go by what reliable sources are reporting. Alexanderlee (talk) 23:23, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

- @Alexanderlee: Because these "reliable sources" don't have any reliable sources to back up their claim. Their reasoning is as good as saying f(x) is disbanded for being inactive.-K-popguardian (talk) 23:26, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
Personally I think most K-pop groups are effectively disbanded when their company stops their contracts. It's very rare that a group reforms under a different label or self-label, they need a lot of weight and funding to keep going. Given that few Korean companies want to give bad news, it's unlikely most companies confirm their disbanding. I think immediately putting "disbanded" a little presumptuous per WP:RECENT - but over time, the lack of official activity would be put them at effectively disbanded. So given reliable sources, I wouldn't necessary use that as an indicator for current events. Nor would I block a group that is effectively disbanded, when clearly most companies will not confirm this. Take it what you will - if Korea Herald is reliable enough and publishing that it is disbanded, that's probably as close as we'll get. Evaders99 (talk) 03:39, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tag Alexanderlee. K-popguardian I appreciate your strong opinion on this, but I don't think the facts support your position for now. There are multiple reliable and trustworthy sources claiming they have disbanded. Even in the article you linked as evidence of no disbandment, there are contradictions. He is quoted as not mentioning disbandment, but also saying they cannot continue as a group right now but possibly will again in the future. The volume of reliable sources seems to strongly support disbandment. To me, it appears to be a disbandment, at least for now. It could be mentioned in the article though, that members of the group have expressed desires to reform the group in the future. NicklausAU 10:59, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the tag, Alexanderlee! Personally the only source I could find for them not being disbanded was member Jongup stating in this article that while each member has no current plans to regroup and rather focus on their solo career, but the members are still on good terms and they hope to regroup some day. So I support saying they disbanded, and for the sake of clarity, explaining that some members have expressed interest in regrouping.
A bit of a last minute addition. I see that this Jongup source has been mentioned already. In the article, he states that he does not feel this to be disbandment, but the members cannot currently be active under the name "B.A.P" and all plan to pursue solo careers. Then he added that they are all on good terms and hope they can regroup someday. For all intents and purposes for Wikipedia, this is disbandment with the chance of regrouping, which, can and should be noted. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 21:35, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
@DanielleTH:, @Snowflake91: @Abdotorg:, @NicklausAU:, @Evaders99:, @Alexanderlee: Based on this last message, I think this is how it should be:
"On February 18, 2019 the remaining four members also left TS Entertainment, resulting in the group's disbandment. However, member Jongup confirmed the possibility of reunion in the future."
This might also work with Kara, T-ara, Spica, etc. (groups that left their labels, with members announcing no disbandment.)-K-popguardian (talk) 23:08, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @K-popguardian: I like that, personally. Though T-ara is a weird case since they're involved in a lawsuit with their company. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 01:38, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
- Clear and factual to me. Seems fine Evaders99 (talk) 02:50, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
