Rentry of SpaceX second stage may have come down in Brazil
[edit]Amateur observers have correlated a large bolide fireball over Brazil a few weeks ago with the space debris object 40142, the derelict second stage of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle which inserted AsiaSat 6 into orbit. Have not found a reliable source media that has yet tied the two together, but these two article describe some of the found debris. Police waiting for technicians to inspect space object that fell on farm (Google translated from Portugeuse), and Object that fell in farm is foreign fuel tank, says AEB (also a Google translation).
I would expect the news media to have more in a few days confirming the linkage, if it exists. N2e (talk) 11:50, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
