Recent change in first sentence of lead section

[edit]

4 cites that I posted to a discussion on Talk:Terrorism in the United States were added to this article in the first sentence with the statement that Andrew Kehoe "was an American terrorist". Let's discuss 1)if it's appropriate to characterize Kehoe in the first sentence of the lead as an "American terrorist" before then describing him as a mass murderer and then 2)let's also come to a consensus if the 4 references provided in the edit are reliable sources and needful (since some are repeated elsewhere in the article). 1) The majority of sources do not call Kehoe a terrorist, which is required for us to call someone a terrorist per MOS:TERRORIST
2) Kehoe's actions are generally not considered to have been politically motivated, which is the conventional and generally accepted definition of terrorism.
3) Of the sources used, two do not call it terrorism, simply relating the attack to it as a comparison. One is blatantly unreliable. The one that does uses it to refer to ALL SCHOOL ATTACKS, which is a fringe usage of terminology to say the least.
So, no. PARAKANYAA (talk) 08:14, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah the content above - added by a sockpuppeting editor - were subsequently reverted. This section was posted in case the editor wanted to discuss etc. They did not. Shearonink (talk) 18:17, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
