Dates not consistent
[edit]The article by Luke Harding which is linked gives two dates at odds with this Wik article:
-7 April for the key day. - 1959 for first publication of the book.
The German Wik gives the same dates as Wik/en, stating that the first GERMAN date of publication was 1959. 211.225.34.178 (talk) 06:49, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
'Purports' ??
[edit]I amended 'purports to detail' to 'reports' in the introductory section.
The previous version appeared to suggest doubt about the validity of the book; one might even interpret a degree of disdain in it. That is wholly unwarranted, and in my view, pretty disgusting.
This is one of the most moving, and bravest, books ever written. Everyone should read it. I have no doubt about its being true to life, and I see no reason for any doubt.

Delete bio to reduce overlap
[edit]There is another article devoted to Hiller's biography, so I have taken it out of this article to make it more consistent with other articles about books. It should focus on the book, its reception and publication history, adaptations, etc. In this case, there were significant controversies at the time of posthumously published editions. The two related articles need more work; I think her bio article has more on the book and its reception than this one does. Still working on them.Parkwells (talk) 18:23, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
"Identity and authenticity"
[edit]Why is there a section on "Identity and authenticity"? There is no suggestion that the book is not authentic - all the quoted evidence shows that it is.101.98.74.13 (talk) 04:48, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
