A249 road → A249 – There is no article called A249 on Wikipedia, and a google search for "A249" returns hits about this road in the first four pages (mostly news reports on the Sheppey Crossing accident). Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, the article should simply be called what all the sources refer to it as. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:37, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose The current name is in the standard format for A-roads and there's no reason to make the A249 an exceptional case. Timrollpickering (talk) 15:03, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. The current name complies with the consistency characteristic of WP:NAMINGCRITERIA. The Great Britain road numbering scheme-related articles use this same convention. I think the OP meant to cite WP:COMMONAME, but even it states that, "Editors should also consider [WP:NAMINGCRITERIA]. Ambiguous or inaccurate names for the article subject, as determined in reliable sources, are often avoided even though they may be more frequently used by reliable sources." - Oppose As above. Its ambiguous, and contrary to the naming convention used consistently across all other British A-Road articles. --Rushton2010 (talk) 02:34, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
