2Suit article should remain separate
[edit]This is Regarding The Request to Delete/Merge the 2Suit article with this article (Sex in Space)
A documentary aired on The History Channel today that featured the 2Suit. The Universe series interviewed the inventor, who tested the flight garment for the documentary, and the 2Suit was tested. The 2Suit was clearly presented as a garment for general purposes of stabilizing intimacy -- any intimacy, not just sex. It was also shown as as suit worn by a woman reading a book -- outside the context of engaging in intimacy as a flight garment/space habitat attire. She was reading a book.
The program made it very clear that the 2Suit is a flight garment, not necessarily limited to sex in space. Given that, the 2Suit more appropriate as a separate Wiki article under Environmental Suits category -- where it now is.
The 2Suit article is related to Sex in Space but the article is substantially separate. That's a lot to merge with the general topic of 'sex in space.' Internal links would cross-reference them.
This debate should be evaluated and investigated. Can someone help out with this? --IMC.esq (talk) 06:50, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Check on the posts below referencing there was a discussion -- no record of any discussion. (Correct me please if I'm missing it.)
And the results of 7 Nov 2007 was to KEEP (not "no consensus" as noted here.
This should be checked by senior admin for bias.

Split (2009)
[edit]I have now split 2suit back into its own article. The situation changed severely after the merge decision, when the 2suit was featured in a History Channel documentary. Not just peripherally: the bloody things were demonstrated in zero gravity. Naturally, making our decisions binding even when the facts change would be one of the more spectacular ways of destroying the encyclopedia. I contacted the editor who did the merge and the nomination, and he agreed with the split. (well what he actually wrote was "jackhammer," but I had asked him to do that if he concurred.)
If this article remains an obscenity upon thy eyes, don't be a *****. Please contact me, contact someone else, contact the relevant wikiprojects, perhaps do some editing yourself - just don't jump directly and entirely unnecessarily to another wrangle about deletion. We're all tired of this. --Kizor 20:49, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- The suit's article was previously merged into Sex in space, and then massively elaborated on so that it mostly took over the article. There is probably some useful material here for developing this article further. Honestly, my main concern right now is getting the suit out of the SiS article and into a valid one on its own. --Kizor 21:03, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- The suit is not just for sex in space, I find it helpful for trampoline and base juming sex as well. Lattefever (talk) 17:26, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Lattefever
Minor Points
[edit]The article mentions "the complete lack of attraction of physical mass in weightless environments". Clearly, this has no basis in fact. Perhaps it needs a [sic]or something like that to make it clear she said this (if she did); but that it's not true! Jpeaton (talk) 14:23, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Reply The reference is in the TV documentary and was a physical sensation rather than a molecular experiment. Should probably be modified to include Bonta's description of a sensation. IMC.esq (talk) 20:23, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Speedy deletion nomination of 2suit
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 2suit, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 65.94.42.219 (talk) 04:54, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Strongly oppose The nominator, 65.94.42.219, has failed to link to any previous discussion on a decision to delete this article. I checked some history, found that there was a a consensus to merge to sex in space, but then four months after the merge ( 2008-12-30), notability was established by new sources, & the article was recreated (2009-04-22). I am going to remove the speedy deletion nomination for two reasons:
- In the nine years since it has been recreated, editors have added additional information. To speedily delete this before having a chance to move the material from subsequent edits into another article would certainly lose relevant & useful information.
- After nine years, this article has reached WP:EDITCONSENSUS. A speedy deletion would thus violate the Wikipedia policy on consensus. This requires a fresh nomination for deletion.
