Montecristo is a Mexican streaming television miniseries based on Alexandre Dumas' 1844 novel The Count of Monte Cristo.[1] The series stars William Levy in the title role.[2]
It premiered on Vix+ on 14 April 2023.[3]

Production

[edit]On 13 January 2022, it was announced that Pantaya, Secuoya Studios and William Levy Entertainment would co-produce an adaption of Alexandre Dumas' 1844 novel The Count of Monte Cristo.[1][4] Filming began in June 2022 in Madrid and the Canary Islands.[5][6] On 24 January 2023, it was announced that the series would premiere on Vix, following TelevisaUnivision's acquisition of Pantaya.[7]
Casting
[edit]In January 2022, it was announced that Levy would star in the lead role.[2] In April 2022, it was announced that Esmeralda Pimentel would star in the series.[8]

Release
[edit]Montecristo premiered on Vix+ on 14 April 2023.[3][9] In Spain, the show began streaming on Movistar Plus+ on 21 April 2023.[10]
