Krokowo [krɔˈkɔvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kozłowo, within Nidzica County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It is located in Masuria.[2] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south-east of Kozłowo, 13 km (8 mi) south of Nidzica, and 60 km (37 mi) south of the regional capital Olsztyn.
History
[edit]The village was first mentioned either in 1371[3] or 1391.[2] As of 1542, the population of the village was exclusively Polish.[3][2]
During World War II, in March 1944, Polish partisans from the Home Army killed two German soldiers in the village.[4]
