Gentry Williams (born June 15, 2004)[1] is an American football cornerback for the Oklahoma Sooners.
Early life and high school
[edit]Williams attended high school at Booker T. Washington located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Williams missed much of his junior season due to an ACL injury.[2] Coming out of high school, Williams was rated as a four-star recruit, where he held offers from schools such as Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma, and USC.[3][4] Williams was selected to play in the 2022 All-American Bowl.[5] Ultimately, Williams decided to commit to play college football for the Oklahoma Sooners.[6][7]
College career
[edit]During Williams first collegiate season in 2022, he notched seven tackles and an interception.[8][9] During the 2022 offseason, Williams collapsed during a Sooners workout which caused to be temporarily hospitalized, however, Williams was quickly released after recovering.[10][11] Williams made his first career start in week one of the 2023 season, where he made three tackles in a win over Arkansas State.[12][13] Williams finished the 2023 season, totaling 30 tackles with four being for a loss, along with three interceptions.[14]
