Jamie Miley (born 14 January 2004) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for EFL League Two side Newport County on loan from Premier League club Newcastle United.[1]
Career
[edit]Newcastle United
[edit]Born in Gateshead,[2] Miley came through the ranks at Newcastle United after joining aged eleven and signed his first professional contract with the club in summer, 2022.[3] He captained the Newcastle under-18 team during the 2022-23 season.[4] In January 2023 Miley was called up to train with the Newcastle first team squad before Newcastle’s League Cup semi-final second leg against Southampton at St James' Park.[5] In the early part of 2023 Miley again trained with the first team squad and became a regular in the Newcastle under-21 team.[6] During the 2023-24 season he featured for Newcastle in the EFL Trophy against Port Vale and Wrexham.[7] He suffered injury during the season and missed months of action. However, he featured for the Newcastle first team in the 2024-25 preseason programme.[8]
Newport County (loan)
[edit]On 29 August 2024, he signed for Newport County on a season-long loan.[9] He made his debut for Newport on 3 September 2024 in the EFL Trophy against Cheltenham Town.[10]
Personal life
[edit]His younger brother, Lewis Miley, is also a footballer who also plays for Newcastle United.[11]
