Draft:I'M SAFE

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm Safe is a mobile application developed by twin brothers Samson Selladurai and Giftson Selladurai from Tamil Nadu, India. The app is designed to enhance women's safety through features such as real-time protection, community support, and secure evidence storage.

History and Background

[edit]

The app was conceived in response to the alarming rise in child abuse and gender-based violence during the COVID-19 lockdown in India. According to reports, over 92,000 child abuse cases were registered in the first 11 days of the lockdown. This spurred the Selladurai brothers to create a technological solution aimed at addressing these issues. The app was launched in 2022, with the goal of providing practical tools for personal safety.

Features

[edit]

Real-Time Protection: Offers live tracking and SOS features for emergencies. Community Support: Connects users with a network of verified helpers. Evidence Storage: Provides a secure platform for storing audio, video, and other data that can be used as evidence.
