Thomas Desmond Bannister is Bahamian politician from Free National Movement.

Bannister was born in Andros.[1] He was educated in the University of West Indies and Norman Manley Law School.[1] He worked as lawyer.

Bannister was elected member of the House of Assembly of the Bahamas for Carmichael constituency.[2] He was later appointed to the Senate.[2] He was the Minister of Education from 2009 to 2012.[3]

Bannister was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Works[4] from December 2020[5] to 2021.
