Gauthami, (Malayalam: ഗൗതമി; Korean고다미); (born on March 12, 2003), also known by her stage name Aria (Malayalam: ആര്യ; Korean아리아), is an Indian singer,[1][2] rapper, and former actress based in South Korea. She is a member of the global K-pop girl group X:IN and part of the sub-unit Triple Iz, which has members from various countries.[3]

Early life

Aria was born in Thiruvananthapuram, and later when she was in fifth grade, she with her family shifted to Mumbai, and she also completed her schooling in Mumbai.[4] She can speak English, Korean, Malayalam and Hindi. She learned Korean from the daughter of her school’s president, and also watched Korean television dramas online to learn Korean. BTS‘s song "Blood Sweat & Tears" made her interested in K-pop. When she was in seventh or eighth grade, she started planning to become a K-pop artist.

Career

She made her debut with Melvilasom as a child actor in 2011.[5] She worked on serials and documentaries and her last acting role was in the film Thank You.[6]

She was selected as a member of the GBK Entertainment's MEP-C[7] in 2022[8] and later she along with her present bandmates debuted as part of X:IN under ESCROW Entertainment on April 2023, with the song "Keeping the Fire".[9][10][11] Later, She debuted as one of the members of 'Triple iz' which is a K-pop project group that consist Dita of Secret Number and E.JI of ICHILLIN' with the single "Halla".
