[edit]- January 24 – South Korea's Ministry of Unification confirms that the Arch of Reunification, a sculptural arch near Pyongyang, North Korea, has been demolished.[1]
- March 20 – Opening of the 81st Whitney Biennial in New York City, United States, lasting until August 11, 2024.[2]
- April 20 – Opening of the 60th Venice Biennale, lasting until November 24, 2024.[3]
- April 21 – A statue of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, by Hywel Pratley, is unveiled in Oakham, Rutland, UK.[4]
- May 16 – A statue of Billy Graham, by Chas Fagan, is erected at the United States Capitol, in Washington, D.C.[5]
- May 25 – Opening of an exhibition of portraits of "Windrush generation", commissioned by King Charles III of the United Kingdom.[6]
- June 4 – David Voss, alleged ringleader of Canada's biggest art fraud, pleads guilty to his involvement in the forgery of works by Norval Morrisseau.[7]
- July 26 - A performance
sequence staged as part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France causes grest controversy and upset when it is seen by some parties as having mocked the Last Supper of Jesus Christ and more specifically Leonardo Da Vinci's famous fresco depiction of it.[8]
