2020 Italian F4 Championship

The 2020 Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth was the seventh season of the Italian F4 Championship. Gabriele Minì won the drivers' championship in his rookie season while his team Prema Powerteam won the teams' championship for the fifth time.

Race calendar and results

The calendar was revealed on 16 September 2019.[38][39] Following a delayed start to the season due to the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic, a new calendar was announced on 19 May 2020.[40] On 3 June 2020 it was announced that the season opener at Hungaroring was pushed back 2 weeks.[41] The final calendar was released on 11 June 2020, with Hungaroring no longer on the schedule.[42]

Championship standings

Points were awarded to the top 10 classified finishers in each race. No points were awarded for pole position or fastest lap. The final classifications for the drivers' and rookies' standings were obtained by summing up the scores on the 16 best results obtained during the races held.[44]

Notes

  1. ^ Jasin Ferati appeared on the entry list for Round 5 but did not participate in the races after injuring himself during qualifying.
  2. ^ Filip Ugran appeared on the entry list for Round 3 but could not make it to the track to compete due to travel restrictions.[26]
  3. ^ Dürksen is a Paraguayan driver who entered under German racing license.
  4. ^ Mateusz Kaprzyk appeared on the entry list for Round 4 but did not participate in qualifying or the races after testing positive for COVID-19.[35]
  5. ^ Gabriele Minì crossed the line first but was given a 5 second penalty for leaving the track and gaining a lasting advantage. Pizzi inherited the win.[43]
  6. ^ Rosso did not start the race, leaving pole position to Gabriele Minì.
