Linking to a different tree

[edit source]

How would I link to a branch in a different tree? Say I'm editing a branch in Bicycles and want to link to a branch in Text?

Hi, For Example, regardless of which page of Wikibooks you are editing, to say link to an hypothethical page two-deep called Italics under a main section called Text use:

[[Text/Emphasis/Italics|Italic Text]]

You can always make an internal link by first writing the name of the main directory, and by then forming the directory path down to the page you want to reference.

The hypothetical page address of such a page would be:

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Text/Emphasis/Italics

so you could also make an external link to it with....

[http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Text/Emphasis/Italics Italics]

Could someone please add a section about interwiki links. For example, if I wanted to add a link to the R2-D2 article on Wookiepedia from another wiki, I could just put [[starwars:R2-D2]] (I put a nowiki tag on it so you could see the code) instead of putting the whole URL. --75.18.40.239 (discuss) 23:38, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
