editInherited from Chagatai تورت (tūrt /tȫrt/, “four”), from Karakhanid تُورْتْ (tūrt /tȫrt/, “four”), from Common Turkic *tȫrt (“four”), from Proto-Turkic *tȫrt (“four”). Cognate with Uyghur تۆت (töt) / төт (töt); Turkmen dȫrt, Azerbaijani دؤرد / дөрд / dörd, Turkish dört; Old Uyghur 𐾀𐽳𐽶𐽾𐾀 (twyrt /tört/), Old Turkic 𐱅𐰇𐰼𐱅 (t²ür²t² /tört/); etc.
