editיָצָא • (yatsá) (pa'al construction, infinitive לָצֵאת, present יוֹצֵא, future יֵצֵא, imperative צֵא)
- (intransitive) To go out (of, from), come out (of, from), exit (from), leave, depart, get out (of, from).
- התלמידה יצאה מן הכיתה והלכה לחצר. ― hatalmida yatz'a min hakita v'halkha lakhatzer ― The (female) student left the classroom and went to the courtyard.
- (intransitive) To come out, come away.
- הוא יצא מן התאונה בשריטות קלות בלבד. ― hu yatza min hat'una bish'ritot kalot bil'vad. ― He came out of the accident with only minor scrapes.
- (intransitive) To come out, result, be produced.
- גם אני עשיתי את החישוב ויצא לי מספר אחר לגמרי. ― gam ani asiti et hakhishuv v'yatza li mispar akher l'gamre. ― I also did the calculation and I got (literally came out for me) a completely different number.
- שכחתי את העוגה בתנור והיא יצאה קצת שרופה. ― shakhakhti et ha'uga batanur v'hi yatz'a k'tzat s'rufa. ― I forgot the cake in the oven and it came out a bit burnt.
- (colloquial, intransitive) To come out, turn out to be.
- אולי השגת מה שרצית, אבל אתה יוצא מאוד רע מכל הסיפור הזה. ― ulai hisagta ma sheratzita, aval ata yotze m'od ra mikol hasipur haze. ― Maybe you got what you wanted, but you came out very bad from the whole thing.
- (transitive and informal intransitive) To be exempt (from), to have satisfied one's obligations (regarding).
